SimBio-M : Simulation for Bio-Mechanics, Material, Medical, Molecule
1st -3rd July 2009, Juan Les Pins, France.
www.simbio-m.com

A new conference on the application of the simulation technologies in the biosciences is born. Apart from the increasing interest and real life applications of these technologies the interdependence of the various domains of application is an important motivation behind the creation of this yearly event. SimBio-M (www.simbio-m.com) is organised jointly by Cranfield University, (School of Applied Sciences, School of Health, Cranfield Defence and Security) and INRETS-Université de la Méditerranée (Faculté de Médecine). It aims at gathering experts with strong simulation activities and know how from various disciplines of bio-Mechanics, bio-Medical, bio-Material, bio-Molecule. This diversity and interrelationship between the various simulation based technologies is represented in the name of the conference (SimBio-M) as well its scientific committee, who are internationally recognised experts in their domain of application.

The conference is expected to bring together biosciences researchers, software providers, manufacturers of medical solutions, experts of medical profession (surgery, preventive, prosthesis) and pioneers in bimolecular and nano-materials technologies. The programme consists of invited and selected lectures covering various topics a few of which are given below:
  • Computational methods (FE, CFD, ALE, SPH, FD) , HPC, 1-d functional models
  • Data processing (Pre/Post, Imaging, Signal treatment, Visualisation, Mining)
  • Material modelling, Stochastic modelling, Probabilistic methods, Optimisation
  • Biomechanics (injury, kinematics, physiology, physiology)
  • Biomaterials (muscles, bones, ligaments, skins, fatty tissues, organs, fluids, contacts)
  • Biomedical (prostheses, stents, dental, surgery, sensing)
  • Biomolecule (stem cells, nano-technologies)
Abstracts of presentation are now requested and should be provided no later than April 15th -2009 (papers@simbio-m.com). Authors will be informed of the acceptance of their presentation and selected papers (when provided before 30th may 2009) will be published in the associated journals.
A special exhibition area is designated for companies wishing to exhibit their relevant products, activities and innovations. Interested companies who are welcome to apply for a sponsorship either online (www.simbio-m.com/Sponsoring.html) or by contacting the conference secretary by sending an e-mail to (info@simBio-m.com) or calling 0033681083190 or  00447503917495.
