ESB Meetings
The ESB is involved in the running, sponsoring, or the organisation of various events, which fall broadly speaking in 3 categories:
1. disseminated events 2. endorsed events 3. ESB-organised events If you would like to know the procedures related to these, and how you go about getting involved, please read this extract from the rules book here. ________________________________________________________________________ The European Society of Biomechanics holds an international scientific congress every two years to provide the most up to date research in biomechanics and to provide a forum of discussion. ESB Congress
The 17th Congress of the ESB in 2010 will take place in Edinburgh Scotland, UK. 5-8 July. KEY DATES: Deadline for abstracts: Monday 30 November 2009
The 2010 meeting will cover the ESB’s traditional core topics while including emerging research areas in which much new and exciting biomechanics research is taking place. Registration opens: January 2010 Notification of acceptance: February 2010 Provisional programme available: Friday 26 February 2010 Early registration closes: Friday 30 April 2010 Registration closes: Friday 18 June 2010 A pre-course will draw on the experience of experts in their field to provide state of the art knowledge in an area general biomechanics interest. Plenary sessions are planned to address current “hot topics” in biomechanics research, and to provide valuable insight into the ever-increasing importance of collaborative research, interdisciplinary programs, EU funding opportunities and biomechanical education programmes. ![]()
The 16th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics took place in Lucerne (Switzerland) on July 6 - 9, 2008, and was a resounding success. The meeting was organised by the MEM Research Center - ISTB at the University of Bern, Switzerland, and attracted more than 600 abstracts on diverse topics spanning the whole spectrum of the biomechanics field. You can find a report and pictures from the meeting here. ESB Workshop
The workshop was structured into the following themes:
A report on the presentations and awards that took place at the workshop is contained in the Autumn 2009 newsletter: http://www.esbiomech.org/Section/newsletter |
